Kasugaoka's Facilities
There is also a part-time schooling system at this school and we mostly use the same facilities as the part-time students however the teachers' room and the principal's offices are separate. There are four floors which have a variety of classrooms such as the LAN (computer) classroom, the LL room (for language learning), dressmaking facilities, science laboratories, and many lecture rooms.
Fitness Room:
Kasugaoka has a fitness room. There are many kinds of training machines in the room but they are limited so it can get crowded. There are weights, exercise bikes, and training machines. The sports clubs use them regularly.
The Wisteria Garden:
Wisteria is "fuji" in Japanese and is a symbol of Kasugaoka High School. The flowers of the season bloom there. They are very beautiful and express the characteristics of this high school.
The Locker Room:
Every student at Kasugaoka has their own locker. They can put their textbooks, gym shoes and valuables in them.
Bicycle Parking:
Around 300 students come to school by bike and there is ample parking. Each student's space is decided and you should be careful not to park in the wrong space. It is also important to obey the rules about cycling such as not wearing headphones while riding or wearing a raincoat instead of using an umbrella.
The Cafeteria:
Kasugaoka has a cafeteria under the gymnasium on the first floor. Many students eat their lunch there. They have many kinds of options, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The most popular item on the menu is pirikaradon. There are also some vending machines near the cafeteria where you can buy drinks and ice cream. The dining room is very popular as you can meet with friends from other grades and classes to eat which is a lot of fun; especially if you are all eating ice cream.
The Gymnasium:
Kasugaoka has a two-storey gym. On the first floor are three rooms. One is a tatami room used for judo, aikido, and the amateur karate club. The second room is used for kendo and table tennis and the third room is the fitness room mentioned above. On the second floor is a large, clean gym which is used by various clubs, for school assemblies, and PE lessons.
The Pool:
The pool is a 25m pool with 8 lanes. It is very clean and in good condition. It is used for PE lessons in the summer but there are only around 3 lessons per class so the pool is mainly used by the swimming club.
Club Rooms:
The club rooms are mainly used by the basketball club and the handball club. There are many useful facilities for the teams' managers and players such as refrigerators, electric fans, washing machines, and a television for watching games on. This can help teams prepare for games and with reviewing their last match to look for areas of improvement.
The Handball Court:
The handball court is near the gymnasium. There are two courts. It is mostly used by the handball club and the softball club but it is also used in PE class sometimes.
Wisteria Hall:
Wisteria Hall was built to commemorate Kasugaoka's 100 year anniversary in 2011 so it is very clean and new. You can study alone there as it is nice and quiet. A lot of students use it before tests and after school. It is also used for some lectures and special events.
