本校は、1901年（明治34年）に府内4番目の高等女学校となる郡立大阪府泉南高等女学校として創立されて以来、 2020年（令和2年）で創立120年を迎える伝統校です。これまでに約3万3千人の卒業生を送り出し、 卒業生は地域はもとより日本全国さらには海外でも活躍されています。
私は、和泉高校生（「いず高生」）が一人ひとりの能力を最大限生かして、これからのグローバル社会を生き抜き、 地域および国際社会に貢献できる人間となっていただくために、次の二つのことを願っています。
一つめは、国公立大学をはじめ、海外も含めた私立大学等へ進学するなど、皆さんが希望する自己実現を達成することです。 そのためには、皆さんが普通科とグローバル科のどちらの学科に入学されても、日々の授業でしっかり学習し、 それを家庭で確実に定着させる習慣を身につけることが最も大切であると考えています。
二つめは、皆さんが本校での学校生活を通して、それぞれの才能や能力を見いだしてくれることです。たとえば、本校にはさまざまな体育系や文化系の部活動、 コーラス大会、体育祭や文化祭などの課外活動や学校行事があります。これらを通して、「いず高生」一人ひとりが心を豊かにするとともに、 自分を見つめ自分のことを知るだけではなく、生涯の友を見つけてくれることも期待しています。
これらのことができるように、私たち教職員は生徒や保護者の方々とともに努力いたします。
明日の「いず高生」をめざす皆さん！ 高い目標を設定し、一生懸命勉強することはもちろん、何かにチャレンジし、そして有意義に過ごしてください。 そうすれば、皆さんの高校時代は長い人生の中できっと特別なものになるはずです。 ぜひ和泉高校で私たちと一緒に、今という時間をかけがえのないものにしましょう。

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
As the principal of Izumi High School, I would like to welcome you to the Izumi High School website. This website has been prepared in the hope that it will become a valuable resource for you and provide you with updated school news and information. This has been developed to enable everyone to become familiar with our school, its policies, and other procedures.
Izumi High School was founded as Municipal Osaka-fu Sen'nan Girls' High School in 1901 and commemorates its 120th anniversary in 2020. During this long tradition of our school history, about 33,000 students have graduated and dedicated themselves to the local, domestic and global communities.
Here at Izumi High School, our staff set high academic standards and lifetime goals for our Izumi High School (abbreviated as "Izukoh") students. Our staff work diligently to ensure that each "Izukoh" student is working to his or her maximum ability in order for them to survive in the global society.
In order to attain this high academic goal, we provide you with opportunities to seek your own career goals by maximizing the academic ability out of each of you. In order for you to do so, we place the first priority on your everyday learning in the classroom and at home.
For the lifetime goal, we believe that your high school years provide you with a wonderful opportunity to discover your unique talents and gifts. One way to learn about these is through a variety of extracurricular activities and school events at Izumi High School. There are outstanding athletic teams, musical, drama and academic groups, an annual chorus contest, athletic meet and cultural festival, to name a few, which will help you to enrich your mind, learn more about yourself and to develop friendships that may last a lifetime.
Our staff would like to work hard together with you and your parents in order for you to attain the above goals.

Set high goals, study hard, challenge yourself, and enjoy yourself. If you do so, your high school life will surely become unlike any other time in your life.
